About us

Take a vacation to the Caribbean courtesy of Chef Ann (Annabelle Goodridge), who opened Cocobreeze mid-pandemic, bringing a menu full of traditional dishes to the Bay. Goodridge’s culinary career began in Trinidad and Tobago, where, beginning at 12-years-old, she helped out with her mother’s catering business. Thirty-five years later now, she’s working with her daughter, Merissa Lyons, to bring authentic Caribbean dishes to Bay Area. Their brick and mortar location is better described as a quaint Island Staycation Destination for residents who have been yearning for authentic Caribbean Cuisine. 
Present Day, Cocobreeze has become the staple hub for all things Caribbean. From their annual Caribbean American Hertiage Awards to their Cocobreeze Caribbean Cooking Internship program. There are countless ways Cocobreeze engages with the Bay Area community. Attend a Meet & Greets with Afro-Caribbean Artists, Entertainers, Authors and Influential Guests, teach a tourist about a local gem or make new friends with Bay Area locals and transplants. Cocobreeze is a Caribbean Cultural Hub offering a fully immerisive Caribbean experience by cultivating and sharing Caribbean food, music, events, culture inspired by Trinidad and Tobago and islands throughout the West Indies. Together we aspire, together we achieve.

A Taste Of the Islands

Cocobreeze Caribbean Cuisine is inspired by Exexcutive Chef Ann's birthplace Trinidad and Tobago. Twin Islands off the coast of Venezula, the most southern islands in the Caribbean Sea. Trinidad and Tobago has a vibrant culture known as the birthplace of Carnival, Calypso, Soca, Steelpan and much more. Trinidad's rich cuisine is inspired by its multicultural influence. Not to be confined to one category, Trinidadian cuisine is a delicious melting pot of flavors. You will find nods to African, Creole, Indian, Spanish and Chinese cuisine, ingredients and techniques that craft the delectable dishes we enjoy as Caribbean food today.

The Jamaican Patty was a delightful starter that left me wanting more. The service was equally remarkable – everyone was incredibly welcoming and friendly, making me feel right at home. I couldn't resist taking a few Patties to go for my friends to enjoy. With both outstanding food and exceptional service, I'm eagerly anticipating my next visit to Coco Breeze. At the zoo we're always looking for good vegan options, and Cocobreeze has delicious options there. That said, I could eat unlimited amounts of their jerked chicken and rice and beans. Yum yum."

"Ate in different occasions, most of the time to go. Attended during Valentine's & most recently, a special Caribbean Celebration where there was live music & lots of people. Flavor is consistently on point with trademark spice & quality. Decent portion, esp the pre-portioned blacks containers can be washed & reused. My personal fav is the Jerk Chicken & pigeon pea rice with the plantain. Slightly spicy with mild sweetness nicely blended is a very filling dish. Surprise standout is the marinated pineapple which is a nice touch to the taste buds. The Tropical Super food Smoothie is a naturally sweet, satisfying delicious concoction of healthy goodness. Cheezy Mac Casserole is yummy to my tummy! Not sure if it's served only once a week or a regular staple menu item, but you MUST try it! Friendly, warm staff & convenient corner location. Two thumbs up, I highly recommend this place for anyone searching for flavors that that are familiar but tantalizing to the senses. "

Chef Ann made us a chicken wing platter with four great tasting types of wings, my vegetarian kid had vegan curry "chicken", and a "Sea Moss" smoothie made by Melissa, who was as nice as she could be to us.
